When using the EPLAN5 integration nothing happens ?

Sorry, but the PDF document, describing how to integrate DWF2PDF into EPLAN, shows an incorrect command line in the call up for PDF generation if your program directory contains a space (E.g. Program Files). The batch file should be as follows for correct operation

002 C:\Progra~1\Hmsn\Dwf2Pdf\dwf2pdf.exe C:\TEMP\%p\e\pagidx.html -o %P.pdf

How do I key in my license ?

DWF2PDF is licensed per user. You should have recieved a letter with the following information.
  1. Name, or email address
  2. Company
  3. license key (the key should end with3 or 4 digits)
Please key in all the above information in the appropiate fields and press "Register". If everything is ok, you'll see a thank you message. If you see an error message, please verify that you didn't type any space character in front or at the end of some fields. In case you still can not register with your license data please contact your local dealer.

I've found an error

Please make sure that you're using the lastes DWF2PDF Version and check this FAQ if your problem is allready fixed or known.
We have a strong QA and we usually fix bugs withing a few days. Note that bugfix-releases are not announced to the public but instead offered for download at http://www.hmsupport.de/downloads. Check the latest 2 digits of the version number . E.g. the current version is 3.4.09, that is the 9th bugfixed version.
If you still think you've found a bug please report this bug! Please register your product first!
Printing problems: We can't help you with printing problems as this has nothing to do with our product.
However: we are using our product with postscript/PCL printers from HP and Panasonic and color printers from Epson and HP. You should check for newer printer drivers in case of problems - note : we've never heard of any problem with postscript printers.

There is text missing in my output

This is a typical font problem. In most cases you can solve the problem by upgrading your viewer (E.g. Adobe 5.x).
Note that DWF2PDF does not embedd Truetype Tm Fonts for copyright reasons - this might cause missing glyphs if you don't have all used truetype fonts installed (typical Arial_21). Note that you can't use the EPLAN5 font for Acrobat (old DOS-based character font).

My project has more that 5000 pages - can I use DWF2PDF

Yes.
The biggest project we had so far has 9921 pages and we could view the result without problems using AcrobatTm Version 5.x. (Win2000,SP2, 256MB Ram). However: You should only generate huge PDF-files for archiving - do not even think about posting a >50MB PDF file on the internet ;-)

You can change the thickness for the pens. Default is 0.01 - for 1200DPI printers try 0.1 .

My license is not accepted anylonger

Please update your product (free - http://www.hmsupport.de/downloads).

I see the message "expired"

Please update your product (free - http://www.hmsupport.de/downloads). Demo versions (versions without license) expire after 3-6 months.

Bitmaps are not positioned correct.

This happens with EPLAN5.40SP1 - please contact EPLAN.

What is the file "dwf2pdf.xml" used for

This is the configuration file. It includes all possible options.

All umlauts and special characters are gone..

Sorry - there was a bug in Version 3.1.04 - please download the latest version. There's a simple workaround - if you don't want to upgrad now please send us an email if you need a workaround description.

Your example PDF documents include the page description and the page type - I don't get this information

Beginning with DWF2PDF version 3.5 we try to retrieve this information from the HTML file (Description/Pagetype/Last Editor/Location/Drawing-Id). However: Eplan5 does not write the pagteype yet.

The ground(PE/GND) symbol and the Euro-sign(€) is missing

This should work with the full version of WWW.Out (Inter@View-WWW.Config) - the standard (preview) version does not handle unicode and Eplan5 special characters. Please not that DWF2PDF handels only a subset of Unicode characters.

How can I...
